We are very lucky in 1J to have Learning Assistant Mrs Tuan in our room during some of our maths time. The students love working with her and she says it's lots of fun too!
This week we spent some time learning about shapes. In groups, students looked at some shape blocks and were left to make some pictures. It was amazing to hear their conversations and to see their pride in their creations. They worked so well as a team.
As part of our fine motor activities this week, students had to read words and make what it said with playdough. There was a frog, bat, tent and cat, just to name a few. Here are some of their creations. We have music on Wednesdays at the moment and the class enjoyed playing the rhythm sticks to music. We have a very musical class so this year will be a lot of fun!
We all enjoyed a play with 1E today at the playground, taking our fruit there for a picnic! A good reward for a great week of work.
The students have settled in really quickly to our maths groups sessions each day. They enjoy the games we play and the different ways we learn and practise our mathematical skills and thinking.
