Weekly Homework
The main part of our homework in Year One is reading with your child each night. This can be a home reader or a book from home or the library. It is important that you read to your child, as well as listen to them read.
Each Friday students will be given their homework book back with the following pasted in:
-Our weekly spelling words to practise reading, spelling and writing, and
-An individual activity related to something we have been doing in class.
Please return homework books with the completed work by Thursday. If you ever have any questions or comments about your child's homework, speak to me at school.
If you would like to do extra homework, there are lots of things you can do, such as:
-Practise writing the alphabet
-Write numbers up to 100
-Count aloud forward, backwards, by 2's, by 5's, by 10's
-Write and illustrate a story
-Practise throwing and catching
Thank you for your involvement in this area of your child's development. Anne Jones
